This morning the Cobblers Study Centre and Barclaycard welcome St. Marys Catholic Primary School to Sixfield’s Stadium on an end of term Barclaycard Reward Day.  The groupof Year One and Two children from St. Marys School in Aston-le Walls were treated to a day out at The Cobblers Study Centre in return for their hard work and effort this term.  The youngsters arrived at the home of Northampton Town Football Club and were immediately greeted by Study Centre Staff and Cobblers Players who were just arriving for their pre-season training session.

The group were then given VIP access and taken on a tour of Sixfields Stadium. Their tour guide Lee took them to the changing rooms, the Boardroom, the Players Lounge, the Players Tunnel, the press area and the very important Directors Seats. The St. Marys pupils were asked to take as many photos of the stadium as possible using digital cameras.

The Barclaycard volunteers helped to download all the Aston-le-Walls stadium tour photos back in the Study Centre and after the Stadium Tour the group were divided in two.  Half of the group completed the famous Cobblers Study Centre Stadium Orienteering Challenge whilst the other half completed an ICT and literacy task which involved making a Stadium Tour Postcard on Microsoft Publisher.  The whole group worked extremely well to complete both activities!

In the afternoon the young learners took to the Cobblers Training Pitch and took part in a practical football coaching session involving skills, drills and a small tournament and penalty shootout.

A fun day was had by all.  We would like to thank the St. Marys pupils for behaving so well and the Barclaycard Staff for their support throughout the day.
